Job Summary

The Brand Activator is responsible for delivering volume, distribution, merchandising, and pricing performance across their designated market pertaining to certain designated wines, spirits and

other products (the “Brands”) as designated by their supervisor(s). Responsibility covers (a) all channels of business for such products including, without limitation, on and off-premise trade, (b) working with their supervisor(s) to manage importer relationships as well as major customer

relationships, and (c) working with their supervisor(s) to develop and execute sales and marketing programming with the importer in the pursuit of achieving both quantitative and qualitative KPI’s.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The role will have no supervisory responsibilities. The role will report to the Regional Sales Manager(s) and International Sales Director.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Importer/ Distribution relationship ensuring the Brands are at the top of mind and receives full focus.
  • To work within the Importer’s structure to provide support, be directive, motivate the various teams.
  • Participate with the Regional Sales Manager in the development and execution of annual sales plan for the territory.
  • Manage the Brand portfolio in the territory, and travel within the territory to actively engage accounts and promote the Brands.
  • Work closely with the Importer to ensure proper management of depletions and inventory by SKU (prevent out of stocks and plan for future growth).
  • Implement creative programs to activate the consumer, including product sampling and demos in both ON and OFF premise.
  • Actively develop and manage relationships with importer personnel i.e., Senior Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Regional Sales Teams, Account Executives, Merchandising VPs, Sales Managers, and Sales Reps.
  • Ensure the planning and implementation of sales and marketing programming exists in all markets.
  • Support the Regional Sales Manager in the development and efficient management of all sales budgets.
  • Ensure the planning and execution of price structures and shelf prices in the market.
  • Ensure POS and other marketing assets are utilized in the field with correct programs.
  • Participate in the development of program-specific POS.
  • Call on and activate Key Accounts in the market in conjunction with the Importer.
  • Work with the Importer marketing and sales team to implement creative programs to activate the consumer, including product sampling, etc.
  • Spend time each month surveying the market to ensure that distribution, pricing, POS, displays, programs, menus, and ads are executed to standard.
  • Travel when appropriate to observe business conditions and to call on key buyers, distributor personnel, and interact and work with co-workers.
  • Participate in importer planning and sales meetings.
  • Ensure all SKUs are positioned properly and within defined standards.
  • Achieving certain KPI’s as may be established by their supervisor(s).

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years’ sales experience in the beverage alcohol industry
  • Experience as Brand Ambassador/ Sales rep/ Trade Marketer would be a plus
  • Sales orientated.
  • Strong Energy, relationships & networking
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to direct the Company brands
  • Existing relationships with wholesaler management a plus
  • Ability to function effectively in an intimate, entrepreneurial business environment; “self-starter”
  • Objective-oriented, focused, individual who needs little direction or supervision; energy and enthusiasm are critical.
  • Excellent planning, multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Willing to be very “hands-on” to get the job accomplished.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite including Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly verbal, including strong presentation skills
  • Valid driver’s license and full time use of a vehicle with flexibility to drive and travel 4-5 days per week required - Car allowance provide
  • The ideal candidate will work nontraditional hours to accommodate both retail and Licensee market execution
  • Bilingual in French and English
